Are Author: Marilyn Mae Randall. Low Water Crossing is one of those books that I found difficult to categorize or explain when asked what I was reading. I re-read the synopsis and thought, yep, that pretty much covers it.

I can certainly agree that this book is an appreciation for the heartache of the main character, Wayne Cheadham, and the three loves of his life/5. The story of three vapid women who had been married to Deacon Thorpe, a celebrity chef, now deceased, did not engage me.

The story, initially related by Thorpe as a child, intrigued me, and the reunion of his wives and children in the much loved Nantucket home held promise, but to quote an old saw, there was no meat on/5. 1 Peter Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.

Second, because he chooses to depict all the characters with movie star good looks, they can come off looking vaguely Japanese or hapa to me.

Some of the men look like they're wearing eye-liner lol. Still, his hyper-realistic portrayals of the characters did a lot to bring the book to life for me when I first read it.

He had two children with Suzie and then left her for Caroline. He then had three children with Caroline and left her for Maya. And then Adrian, the three wives and their children seemingly got along and even went on holidays together.

But one day -- as the book begins --Maya stepped in front of a bus and died/5(K). Thursday is the second of Seth’s three wives and it is told from her point of view.

They have an almost idyllic life on the days he stays at her house. Thursday follows the urge to know more about the others wives. She falls down a rabbit hole that left me guessing what was happening up until the very last words of the s: K.

Ren, a lonely widower, marries the girl as his third wife. After years have past, the third wife starts reading Peony's and the second wife's writings, and after adding on to them she convinces her husband to help her publish them. Not long after Ren realizes that Peony was never given the appropriate funeral rites and finally completes them for her.

This book is the second in Feather's "Brides Trilogy" (it follows The Hostage Bride, Portia's story, and precedes The Least Likely Bride, Olivia's story).

It is my least favorite of the three and although I really disliked it when I first read it (I looked back in my notes and apparently I only gave it one star), when I recently reread it I found that it wasn't as bad as I remembered it (or my taste has changed somewhat).
